Ioannis is an advocate, admitted to the Athens Bar Association in 2017 and the Cyprus Bar Association in 2019, handling both common and civil law related matters. He holds an LL.M from the London School of Economics (Corporate and Commercial Law, 2015) and an LL.M from the University of Amsterdam (International Trade and Investments, 2017), having graduated from the Law School of the Democritus University of Thrace in 2014. He also received certifications from the University of Oxford (History of Economic Thought, 2016) and the Athens University of Economics and Business (Accounting, 2017).
Prior to joining our firm, Ioannis worked for a large law firm in Limassol for more than 4 years, and was also a member of its management committee. He has experience in a range of commercial, corporate, banking, insolvency and energy law matters, having worked in transactions involving international law firms, institutional financiers and international commercial and development banks (including the World Bank, the EBRD and the EIB). In addition, he has engaged with PR-corporate communications matters, producing legal analysis material, dealing with issues of legal marketing and preparing various corporate presentations for the media.
Ioannis previously worked as a research assistant in a major programme of the European Law Institute and is currently an academic fellow at the Law School of Leiden University, with a research focus on alternative methods of corporate rescue that can be used under conditions of macroeconomic adversities. He is a member of the teaching staff of the European Legal Training Center. He has a large number of publications in prestigious international journals and portals.
