Our firm has a strong focus towards future applications and new product launches, together with an avid interest in R&D activities. The firm supports, participates and drives EU, UK and other funded projects with a wide range of thematics. Some of the most recent projects we have participated and/or advised in relate to renewable sources of energy, smart AI and the development of an innovative KYC/KYB digital platform (Trustnexus).

FUELPHORIA, an EU-funded Innovation Action project, focuses in establishing sustainable, competitive, and secure value chains for advanced biofuels and renewable fuels of non-biological origin.
The DS Partners Team has been contributing from the very start to the Intellectual Property Management of the project preserving the integrity of pilots and protecting their end results and bestowing to the overall global efforts to limit the use of fossil fuels and move towards renewable sources of energy.
Coordinated by CERTH, this green and environmentally friendly project, will set up and test a portfolio of 9 complete value chains in Belgium, Greece, and Spain. Project partners will also evaluate the environmental performance of the FUELPHORIA renewable fuels, design innovative business models to prepare their market entry, and explore their export potential through collaboration with Africa.

HumAine project
Dedicated members of our team lead the Ethics Team of the HumAine project, a funded Horizon Europe project reflecting a joint effort of 17 partners to create a revolutionary Operating System (OS) for enhancing the collaboration between Humans and AI across various industrial sectors, ensuring thus ethical use of AI and ethical project outputs.

ID2L: Identity on Distributed Ledgers
The ID2L platform introduces a novel digital KYC (Know Your Customer) platform based on blockchain technology and AI. It shifts data authorization flow back to individuals and establishes a mutual approach for KYC checks and data sharing across industries. This comprehensive solution minimizes the risk of financial crime, puts data management in the hands of end-users, and reduces compliance costs.
The DS Partners team led the ID2L consortium, which is a completed project that was funded under the European Union’s Eurostars3 Program.
PLEIADS
PLEIADS focused on reshaping the market and transforming the KYC (Know Your Customer) ecosystem through the development of a comprehensive full-service offering tool that combined blockchain/distributed ledger technology, engagement and lobbying with regulators and digitization of existing KYC files held by stakeholders. This was reflected onto a novel digital know-your-customer (KYC) portfolio platform. PLEIADS will allow clients to process KYC data themselves and enable the mutualization of the performance of KYC checks and the validation of the relevant documents. Members of the DS Partners Team were part of the PLEIADS consortium. The project was funded and supported by Innovate UK and completed in 2024.

The truth is, we enjoy being lawyers, but we enjoy even more the fact that we have the knowledge and the means to combine both.

Frustrated by the countless KYC/KYB checks we have had to do for ourselves, for our company and for our clients, we decided to create a tool that not only simplifies on boarding for both the end-user and the companies that onboard with, but creates a marketplace of easily accessible services through federated verified and secure identification of businesses and individuals. So, the idea of the trustnexus project was conceived.
